    That Raleigh Pursuit is truly a monster - single speed with SS chain tensioner- aaargh! 52 x18 gearing is pretty steep too - but you could watch those gas pipes flex and creak as you try and get up the hills, and the squealing brakes would help drown-out your own screams as you came down the other side! There is nothing intrinsic about that bike that would be worth saving - nasty, plain-gauge frame - check; steelie wheels - check; narrow flexy bars - check; flexy Weinmann brakes - check; hard, plastic saddle - check; fixed, flexy chainset - check!
