Doping in the Giro
Three cyclists have tested positive for doping during the Giro d'Italia, the Gazzetta dello Sport reported Wednesday without citing names.
Two of the riders are Italian and one is Spanish, the Gazzetta said. The paper reported that none of the cyclists were among the top finishers in the race, which ended 10 days ago.
The tests were carried out by the International Cycling Union, although the UCI would not confirm the report.
®All of the tests from the Giro are still being examined,¯ UCI spokesman Enrico Carpani said.
According to the Gazzetta - which is published by Giro organizers RCS - high levels of salbutamol, a substance normally used to treat asthma, were found in the two Italians. The Spaniard had a high testosterone level.

Did you get planning permission for that sense of humour bypass?0 -
I just read on radsport-news it was Petacchi, Piepoli and Mayo :O.0
-
Cyclingnews is reporting that both the Italians have medical exemptions for asthma and Mayo has a recorded history of Testosterone variation and his sample is being tested, like that of one of the cheating americans, for artificial testosterone

Now 'we know' (???)why Iban Mayo suddenly starts riding well. its all down to his testosterone variation!
Does anyone actually believe this?0 -
Mayo has been cleared by the UCI but Pettachi and Piepoli have to justify their high Salbutamol levels.
