Good bet for the Tour?

Maybe... you can get 33/1 so could be a good each way punt. The difficulty could be guessing who's gonna be leading Discovery through the Pyrenees. By then it could be any one of:-
Brajkovic
Leipheimer
Popo or
Contador

Personnally I think Brajkovic looks like good value at 50/1.

An outside bet, maybe. But Discovery don't have a good track record in replacing Armstrong. Also, isn't Contador involved in Puerto in some way? The UCI are still looking at the evidence from the Spanish court, so there may yet be a few surprises before July 7th.[V]

i'd also heard that Tom Danielson was going to be in their TdF final team.

We'll see. He's just pulled out of the Dauphine after one day with a stomach upset.

• I think Discovery will learn from their mistake of last year, where they failed to nominate a leader and the team looked lost for most of the race, and ensure everyone falls in line behind Leipheimer. I don't think he'll do any better than the lower reaches of the top ten personally but the rest of their team are either too young (Contador and Brajkovic) or not good enough (Popo and Danielson).

Sorry to hijack a bit but Janez Brajkovic should be able to get up the hills. And he's an U23 world time trial chapion.

• It will be Leipheimer, no doubt. Contador is an unknown for a 3 week race I expect. The team will be built around him with a little room for the other to try something - Hincapie for the prologue for example.

Levi is capable of doing a good ride and seeing as his time trialing seems to be very good this year, he could ride high overall.
