Gears again!!!
O.K. This is the question.
I am running a 52/38 up front and a 13/23 shimano hyperglide at the back. Not sure if it is a short or long derailure. What can I do to make hills easier, but not cost an arm and a leg. If I change the cassette how will I make sure I have the correct derailure? The one on there at the moment is an EXAGE 3000.
Cheers

Here's an answer[:)]
If you've got a road rear mech then a xx-28 cassette should fit. If you want to go lower than that then you'll need an MTB mech. I'm currently running a 12-32 and Alivio mech (cost about œ30 from Chain Reaction) on a 38 up front and it gets me up most things.
Hope this helps
OK - I'll just have one more baby elephant...0 -
O.K. Cheers
What are the differances in derailier sizes. Is it the distance between the small wheels or is there anything else I should be checking.
