My Mavic 631 Cranks aren't bent!
From where my Mavic 631 cranks leave the BB area to the pedal they are completely parallel to the frame.
Just comparing to an old Suntour (albeit MTB) set, they are in a very relaxed "S" shape, so the pedal ends further away from the centre than with my 631s (hope you are following).
I always thought my pedals were too close together, but never looked closely enough before tonight.
Anyway, so a few questions...
1) Did Mavic 631 Bottom Brackets have very long axles to give a good width?
2) Anyone know where I can get a Mavic BB designed for the job (tapers don't match with Shimano anyway).
3) Do modern cranks have the "S" shape, or other shape to bring the pedal further away from the centre line?
4) Why don't I just buy a new Chorus Chainset?
