Broken spoke

Riding home from work tonight and one of the spokes failed in my rear wheel (Reynolds Alta Race). [:(!]

Can anyone comment on how compromised the tension in the wheel is likely to be? Obviously, it needs replacing, but how safe is the wheel to ride on with one spoke missing......don't want to miss out on training, but then I don't want to knacker the wheel.

Alta Races have DT spokes in them IIRC(?) so perhaps not the easiest job to replace.......

You could probably keep going a long time if you keep checking and adjusting the tension on the other spokes. I didn't, and I suddenly went from one broken spoke two weeks ago to six broken spokes this morning = knackered wheel. In future, I think I'll replace broken spokes as soon as possible.

It's unlikley to be very dangerous, but you're now more likely to have all sorts of problems with the wheel - possibly costing you a lot more money & inconvenience.
