Kaffenback Seatpin clamp prob

I recently converted my Kaff to cantilever brakes, and I used a rear combined brake hanger/seatpin clamp I bought from Condor. Trouble is the clamp is a slightly larger diameter than the seat tube. I have shimmed it with a peice of plastic I found in the toolbox but its not firm enough, the saddle still slips down very slowly.

Ideally i need a painted shim (so as not to damage paintwork on the steel seat tube).

Any ideas???

Cheers

I had the same problem when I had a Kaff - but made worse as it was a small frame and so the rear cable hanger needed to be higher than the seatpost clamp. I ended up keeping the old post clamp and then using the hanger clamp part-way up the seatpost - elegant it wasn't!

Thought I'd try to use a carbon headset spacer as a shim. I'll cut a couple of mils out of it with a hacksaw, then it might just work...??

I bought a simple tektro cable hanger for mine that fits on to the seat clamp bolt. It only cost œ2 from Planet X. The problem was that Kaff has a forward facing slot on the seat tube. The cale hanger has a little 'elbow' that is designed to fit in to a rear facing slot. By filing down this elbow and fitting the hanger to the seat camp bolt (bolt facing backwards obviously) it worked perfectly. A little bit fiddly but good result.
