Secret cycling society!

In recent weeks I've been noticing a number of commuters peddling furiously across Waterloo bridge with one trouser leg pulled up.

At first I thought it might be a freak of the wind / action of the pedals causing their dominant leg to raise the trouser.

Then I wondered about a sinister secret society of cyclists whose membership is communicated through raised trouser legs and finger positioning on the bars.

Having now just returned to my bike after a few years absence, the coins dropped. Doh!

Ah I am aware of this group, I also have knowledge of their secret song!...

    Who controls the British crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?
    We do! We do!

Who leaves Atlantis off the maps?
Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
    We do! We do!

Who holds back the electric car?
Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
    We do! We do!

Who robs cavefish of their sight?
    Who rigs every Oscar night?
    We do! We do!

Whoever they are they allow women to join. I saw one last night , right leg of her jeans , very discretely , just a couple of folds but it was there all right

Surely they'd be 7/8 trousers if they've only rolled up one leg?

A visual survey of about 20 Waterloo bridge crossers this morning showed only 1 wearing clips (bloke in a suit with a very retro upright bike that has a front wicker basket), with everyone else either preferring various lengths of shorts, rolling one leg, or flappy summery dresses.

Clips are so last year and imply that wearer does not use Facebook.
