I must have been mad

In the past couple of weeks I've become very lazy. There's a "new" train in the morning that goes from East Croydon station to Kensington Olympia - it's the first direct train Southern has run at c.8am for about 5 years. Anyway, I've been getting on it, finidng a seat and reading a book for half an hour which has been a very pleasant start to the day.
This afternoon though, and madness must have taken hold, I so enjoyed my cycle from work to Clapham Junction that I decided to carry on back to Croydon. On my Brompton[:0] - nearly 14 miles in total. I did have lower back pain and my right foot kept going numb but apart from that it wasn't too bad at all. I won't be doing it again in a hurry though[;)]

i'm a bit conflicted, faced with same i'd take the train too, but my heart would want to cycle everyday, for that you're a star.
the whole "brompton" thing is a little more fuzzy, let's never talk of it again....

I've done a 50 on my Brompon.
Christ my arse was sore after that. And my arms went numb.0 -
When I did my back in I could hardly walk, but I found my Brompton bareable, so swapped to it for my 13 mile ride in for a bit. Took a bit longer but still better than the train

Just buy a real bike and do it every day in comfort.

I would love to spend 2 hours cycling 5 days per week - I would if I didn't have kids. I can't get home in the evening and put my feet up as I have to get dinner, make sure homework/practice is done, pick up kids from training/lessons etc. I get too tired. Last year between January (when Southern banned bikes) and October (when I got my Brompton) I actually made myself quite ill because of the amount of cycling I did. I'm feeling much better now I'm not so exhausted. I only do the 27 miles per day when the weather is very fair! And on a "proper" bike! I also suffer from Raynaud's syndrome so couldn't cycle 27 miles through the winter anyway.0
