Can anyone help...
ive 'aquired' a set of nearly new Sora STIs with ST-3300 written under the hoods. (lovely carboot sales..i love em)
The right definately appears to be an 8 speed, but i'm struggling with the left..trying to figure if its a double or triple.

Click the thumb button so its at its lowest setting, then the main lever clicks once, then again, then again.
From the highest setting, it then clicks twice down with the thumb button.

My Sora shod bike has been in storage since the winter, and i cant remember how it felt.

Any help appreciated guys..[:)]

Yes...it feels like it should be a triple, but i thought the number under the hoods would be ST-3303

I want to put them on ebay, but...

First time I've seen anyone go [:p] about Sora shifters !

(I have them on my Winter bike, they work fine, I just end-up with blisters on my thumbs from the levers rubbing if I use fingerless gloves)

why is it sunny all week yet rains at weekends ?

Two clicks down with the thumblever.

Small clicks wwith the lever....trimming perhaps ?

I don't think that you can trim with Soras.
Maybe they were cheap for a reason [:o)]

Cheap yes...crud..no....good value...not sure, i think Xenon are cheaper.
Mine have done 4 or 5 summers and winters problem free, 4000 miles maybe. Good durable and simple STIs...i like em [8D]

Anyways...definately the same movement as my double setup....just dont know why the small clicks. Still, i'm not going to lose any sleep...

  • I have Sora's (3300's) and they are on a double. They do have a trim 'click' on them, but you may find that you have to shift twice to move from small to big chainring, then trim down if you shift to the larger sprockets when you are on the big chainring. Good shifters, but a pain to shift down when you are on the drops.

If at first you don't suceed, deny all knowledge of ever trying!!!

    Easy way to tell....

The left hand lever has "Triple" printed on it [:D][:D]

    See: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=13639

They are for a double, the 3304 is the triple. I have a pdf copy of the instruction manual (well it's a single sheet but you know what I mean) if you want a copy, email me and I'll send it to you. And yes, they can be trimmed.
