Hi,
should I swap my normal choice of Vittoria Rubino Pro's for Continental tyres - either Ultragatorskins or Grand Prix 4's - when I take my Cannondale over the Pyrenees in July?

And should I 'up' the size from 23x700 to 25x700's ???

Cheers, Mombee.

PS - I was planning on taking a spare tyre, just in case something catastrophic happened.

I would be very tempted to ditch the Rubinos, I've had bad experiences of their grip in the wet. Hopefully it won't rain on you, but if it does I'd imagine you'd prefer to stay on the road on those twisty descents!

There is a lot of good buzz on here for the Conti GP4000S at the moment (note: this is their new tyre, not the plural of GP4000)

what about the Vittoria Open Pave(24)? A good tyre for rougher roads (designed for the Belgian classics. Those GP4000S tyres are sweet tho'.
