I think the comment mentioned was made by the man like Andyp?

Are we too cool?

Okay. Maybe not me, but some of us.

  • Perhaps of greater interest is that Richard Moore reads the forum!
  • Blimey. I shall expect a cheque in the post then! [;)]

When some of the things written in soapbox start to get used, it's time to worry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Drug taking abounds in cycling, and not just at professional level. Amateurs (including many of a low standard) are also involved. However, most cyclists see nothing wrong with this and, in fact, drug taking is a popular topic of conversation on the weekly club run." According to the man who knows. Strange I always discuss my latest injection or tablet at the cake stop on a Sunday clulb run. What an idiot. As many of us as possible should post to people from acutally believing this.

"People setting the pace too fast on the front are abused to slow down. Riders that do not share the work are abused. Riders that need abuse get abused and the abuse is done in every language so they get the message"

Where did Richard Moore get this from? Certainly on our club run, the closest we get to performance enhancements are flapjacks and tea.

On my weekly runs the subject of drug taking is ever present, mainly as we digest the latest scandal to hit the sport. [V]

Quite Richard Moore wrote no such comment, it was posted by someone reacting to it.

You're right, it's not Richard Moore, just a poster on the Scotsman.com forum, my mistake.

Still, it is sad that the person who wrote that "drug taking is a popular topic of conversation on the weekly club run" was doing so in the context that "amateurs (including many of a low standard) are also involved". Or maybe it was just a "troll"?

Possibly the poster is someone from a different country - I get the feeling that amateur cycling culture is not the same in other places of the world, although I may be completely wrong.
