Suitcase storage at Heathrow/Manchester

Well, I'm thinking of possibly flying into Heathrow or Manchester from the States to cycle to my parents house on a mini-tour. I have a folding bike that fits into a suitcase, and I thought it would be nice to use it.
My question: since I obviously won't want to carry a large empty suitcase, does anyone know if there is anywhere you can store an empty suitcase at Heathrow anywhere for a week-10 days? I know I could probably ask a hotel to store it (if I stayed there) but I really don't want to as the cost of hotel stay is going to be close to the price of train ticket to my parents anyway. I'm guessing this would be unlikely, but just in case..... I suppose I could also take the train into London as well, so anybody know anything about storage at Paddington?
Long shots I know, but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks for the reply. I did a little bit of online searching, and it looks as though you can store luggage for 6-8 pounds a day at Heathrow or . Problem is, I intend to be about 7-10 days, so it doesn't make sense for me (can catch train for that money!). Oh well, I'll have to think of an alternative.

Hi Nigeyy,
Given the choice, I'd fly via Manchester and avoid Heathrow.
I live 30 miles south of Manchester airport and would easily look after a case for you - but that 30 mile gap could be a problem.
Do you NEED the case? Why not use a soft bag and wrap it up when you arrive?
If you'd like to tell us where you are heading then we could collectively figure something out, I'm sure.0 -

Wow, thanks everyone for the kind offers. To answer and clarify some questions:
i. my destination would be approximately 30 miles south of Sheffield. Though I'd love to fly into Manchester, Heathrow is probably a more likely destination (flights from Boston to Manchester are limited and often involve connections, and flights to Heathrow are usually considerably cheaper too).
ii. I would be putting my folder into a hardshell suitcase -I suppose I could use a soft shell suitcase, but I'd rather use a hard one to protect my bike (and we all know how much we value our bikes, right?)
iii. I should add once the suitcase hasn't got a bike in it... it will be completely empty and wouldn't weigh much.
Thanks again for the feedback.
