Frame numbers

...my insurance quote form is asking for my frame number???? I had a good look but cannot find it. I am assuming this is like an engraved number a bit like cars have...am I right? Where should I look, as I say it isnt obvious to me by looking at it. I ride a Daws Galaxy.

The serial number is either on the underside of the BB in the form of stamped digits, or as a bar code on more expensive/carbon frames.

Should be stamped on the underside of the BB, although some of the numbers can be obscured by the gear cable guides.

Also check your rear drop-outs, chainstays or front mech hanger - I've got frames with numbers all over the place. I've also got a couple with none at all!0
