Hi all,

doing my first race on Thursday - 32 miles on a motor racking track......

Did a hard ride today at the track training, which has left me with some reasonably heavy legs... should i completely rest tomorrow?

Also, what pace am i looking at for a 4th cat race over this distance..

Many thanks

Mark

    Good luck.
I would either rest or go out for a really easy ride in a low gear for about 20 miles max.
What pace in a 4th? Depends who is in it, anything from 22 to 25 mph roughly.
If you train on track you will know benefit of drafting so do the same in race and get used to pace of ride and if still in with a shout with a 2 laps to go, look at positioning yourself within top 15 places to prepare for sprint and from about 500m see if you can pick a strong wheel to follow and do your sprint off hs wheel in last 100m.
Unless of course your feeling strong and go alone with a lap to go [8D]

I would recomend a really light spin too, but more in the 10 mile region. Also see if you can get someone to massage your legs. Call me old fashioned but the Radox mineral salts in a hot bath can do wonders too[:p]

21mph plus sounds about right for 4th cat, but sometimes it can be sickeningly fast 26mph

    Good luck

    25-27 average on your own?
    If so, PM me.
