Well two months later, but I did it.

Yesterday I had the day of work and I went for a cycle (about 4 miles). I cyclced maybe 1/3 of the way to work and back.

I now feel confident with the bike and route. I had a few issues, handle bars to low (lots of pressure on my hands) and my arse hurts lol, but i guess thats just one of those things.

Anyway, sorry for boring you, I just had to tell someone.

good start Kelvin. I restarted after 20 years off, haven't made the progress that I would have wanted but now manage 20 miles on cycle routes on a hybrid and the same on my retyred 20 year old 531/campag road bike.
  • Thanks john, the rpoblem is that I now have a bad kneck (crap pillows).

The reason i made the effect is that I proposed to my girl friend and we both have decided to go on a diet. I would like to lose about 2-3 stone by next july. Thsi should be easily done if i cycle to work (2 -3 times a week) and go to my rugby training.

    Anyway Thanks again john.

Good luck with the weight loss. I've got about 3 stone left to remove. Hope you get into your cycling and rugby training, it's so much easier to have an exercise that you really enjoy. I've tried the gym, swimming, jogging in the park, but didn't stick at it as there was always something else I'd rather be doing. With the bike I look forward to hopping on - while I know it's good exercise, the main reason I get the bike out is that it's fun.
  • Gavin i think you hit the nail on the head lol. MrK i think you right there, i don't mind the bike, its nice to just eb able to chill on the bike.

    Thanks guys.
