Is that quite steep in cycling terms as I went up it yesterday and was blowing out my arse by the end. Came after about 20k into my ride.
(First ride after a 2month lay off since dislocating my knee cap though!!)0 -
I'm not best qualified to answer that!! They all seem steep to me! [:D]
Most of the roads up to High Beach are 10% (although Church Street is 12.5%). How hills feel to ride up is all relative I guess - I used to struggle up all of them around there but with time and fitness they've got easier except then of course you try to climb them quicker! Ask anyone who rides in more hillier parts and I'm sure they'd think nothing of a mere bump in the road! [:D]

The average is 10%, I ride it every night on my way home from work. I think it is quite a hard climb as the gradient changes, so it's hard to get a good rhythm going.
I time myself up there to gauge how my fitness is. There is a road sign just after the entrance to the mobile home park, I start timing there and then finish at the bus stop just over the top. Best time is 1m50..........thing is,it always feels hard!

Just after the Woodbine pub. I say mobile home, more over-sized caravans.
