Don't know if you've already looked at http://www.northsea-cycle.com/
You seem able to zoom in on sections of the route and print your own maps.
Everything worked this morning except my printer seemed to prefer screwing up paper instead of producing maps.
Sorted print problems.
Also site has where to get maps for various sections.0 -
Thanks John but couldn't see where it gives information on how to order maps for various sections perhaps you could send me the webpage you are talking about.
Cheers

Go to the site and click 'tour planning' on the brown menu bar below the top set of pictures.

On this page you can find details on where you can acquire paper maps for your trip. While the maps on the web site provide a reference for planning your trip we do not guarantee the accuracy for navigational purposes. </font id="green">
Of course, this may not give you links to all maps or sections. I'm not planning a trip but was interested enough a few months ago to have a browse around. After over 20 years off a bike and only a few months back on, I feel more realistic personal targets are the order of the year.
If you plan a trip and go ahead, please keep us all informed - vicarious touring is my hobby these days.0 -
Hi Gus,
What you need are the Statens Kartverk Sykkel Guides for the Norwegian part of the NSCR.
There are 2:
<b>S›rnorske HjulglederNordsj›ruta Vest</b> - It shows the route Kristiansand-Mandal-Farsund-Egersund-Haugesund-Bergen.
<b>S›rnorske HjulglederNordsj›ruta st</b> - It shows the route Halden-Moss-Horten-Sandefjord-Arendal-Kristiansand.
The information is unfortunately in Norwegian, but the maps are reasonable and certainly save buying loads of the 1:50,000 maps.
You can order them on line, from http://www.bike-norway.com/bestilling_alle.asp?lang=eng They will send them with an invoice, which you can then either send them payment or as I did ring them and paid by VISA.

The new 2007 editions include English translations. The maps are on bar bag sized cards rather than on a single map...0

The North Sea website should give enough information for the general route, then pick up maps as you go at tourist info. offices. Saves carrying too much paperwork all of the way, and often cheaper too.
Cycle touring is at its best when you are lost, it's then that you tend to meet the most interesting people.[;)][:)]0 -
