Grippy flat pedals for utility bike?

Hi all,
I think I need grippier pedals, my feet keep slipping off the pedals when I spin in my lowest gear. This never happened on my old bike before it was nicked, even when I was cycling in frankly stupid shoes (I use trainers for my commute now) so it must be the pedals on the new (old!) bike I have now not having much grip.
Can anyone recommend good grippy flat pedals (that don't cost too much!), there are loads on the online sites and I don't know where to start.
NB: I'm not interested in clips or clipless, thanks, I pootle around town on my old-lady bike and am constantly stopping at lights etc.

Wellgo pedals are pretty good. They do some big, BMX-style pedals with little studs that screw out. You don't get much grippier than those, but beware of catching your shoes/shins on them.

Yep! I've got Wellgo pedals on my comute bike. I thought about DMR V12 or V8, but I thought they were just not worth the extra cost. I got mine from Halfords. Good point about catching your shins. I've seen this done, and it was a bit of a mess!

Actually, I think I've got a pair of V8s in the shed. hardly used, but with a couple of the little pegs missing.
Send me a message if you're interested. You can have them if I can find them.

Thanks guys, I will get some of those then. And watch out for my shins!
I read that you have to grease the thread on the new pedals before you put them in - should I buy grease or does ordinary oil do (I have 3-in-1, Finish Line dry lube or Phil Wood heavy oil for my hub gears)?0 -
Ah I didn't see the post about the V8s, must have been posting at the same time. Yes I would be interested, I'll message you.0

I can report back that I've now got my grippy pedals, very kindly given to me by Mister Paul (thanks again!) took the bike for a ride this morning and they made a big difference. It wasn't nice cycling on slippy pedals (and probably quite dangerous).

Don't thank me. I only had them spare because another kindly C+ member gave me a pair of clipless pedals for nowt.
