How to fix Ortlieb map to bar bag?

Hi,
I've just received an Ortlieb Ultimate 5 bar bag which I plan to use for a week away to France starting on Monday. Any ideas for fixing my Ortlieb map cover onto it? I presumed the bag would come with studs to fix onto the map cover, but I was wrong[:(]. The map cover has holes which line up with the studs on top of the bag, but thats about it. Having found an old poncho with the same studs, I went about prizing one off, but they're riveted together, making reusing them almost impossible.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.[:)]

The Ortlieb catalogue lists three map cases, one of them listed as Mapcase for Ultimate. The diagram shows it as having press studs to match those on the bag. If yours hasn't got these you've probably got the wrong one, the choices being speedy replacement or bodge. I've held a map cases to a bar bag with elastic bands round the whole bag, not ideal but it worked.0

The bar bag map cases are different from the walking ones.

Thanks for that. My map case was bought primarily for walking a few years ago. Looks like I'll have to bodge something together over the weekend.0

Go to a local shoemaker, take both bag and map case. It hold be possible to fit "poppers" to your present case. However I don't know if this will be cheaper than buying the dedicated map case.

sounds to me like you've got the map case the one for hikers/walkers. the map cover is supposed to have press studs that line up with the ones on top of the barbag. if it's not going on easily then it's not the right one for the bag.
i'm wondering if I should get a barbag myself but i've got sti shifter cables and extra brake handles mounted so probably won't bother.
it also seems a rip off that the ortlieb bar bags cost so much and you have to buy the map case (a lump of plastic) for an extra 15 quid. it should come with one already attached for 50 quid0
