I reckon we haven't had a 'bad road surface' thread for a while, and now that so many of us have helmet cams... Here's my nomination:

I've got round to reporting the bit under the bridge to Fill That Hole:

Damn, I just thought of a piece of music to go with my film... Anyone got "There I was, digging a hole" by Bernard Cribbins...?[;)]

Northern end of Castlenau in Barnes, SW London.

Just as you come south over the bridge and hit the bus/traffic calming. I am sure i've lost a number of fillings and buckled my wheels plenty of times...

I keep reporting it to fill that hole but Richmond council seem to do sweet FA

I wouldn't know where to start with regards to reporting it!

So how are we going to vote for the worst road. Can we have a politically weighted Eurovision song contest type of vote [:p]

Yeah, there are some pretty bad bits there...

Hmm, hadn't thought of how to vote. I suspect Londoners will all vote for each other, and anyone North of Watford won't vote for a London road, on principle, as they are all south southerners...[;)]

    Or something like that...

For reporting, I suppose you could just choose a few of the worst bits and report them as potholes to fillthathole.org.uk I chose one part of my filmed route to report, although it's all pretty dire. If 'they' keep getting hassled, 'they' may actually do something. Eventually...

I need to get a photo or video of the road from Dalmeny. It's hellish!

(I'm sure Tete and other Fife -Edinburgh commuters would back me up on this)

This wasn't too good back in the day.... http://www.cuppatea.org/bus3.jpg and it still happens!

For me, it is Pritchatts Road near QE Hospital/University of Birmingham. An absolutely awful bit of road with manholes, potholes, bits of scraped up road and large cracks - I ride out of the saddle and quite slowly when on my road bike down there.
  • some of the roads in and around leeds are a shambles, you need nabs of steel and wrists like giant haystacks to get through!

    dangerous jules.
you just have to accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue!

There is a spot of road outside Victoria coach station, just by the lights for Buckingham Palace Road. You *really* need to avoid the potholes. Countless buses on their way to Eastern Europe have taken a heavy toll....
