105 Hollowtech 2 Help for a hybrid

Hi all,
I own a Giant escape M1 and am trying to upgrade to some decent road gearing so after a bit of searching decided on buying a 105 crankset (double ring) along with the hollowtech BB 10 spd rear cassette 770 front mech and shifters and the 105 rear mech.
Now I have fitted most parts no probs, but when I got to putting the right crank arm in (along with bb shaft) the inner ring butts up to the frame? I haven't seen any options anywhere on bb shaft length on the hollowtech stuff and was certainly not given any options when I bought the kit! Could it be I am missing a spacer or something?
All help is welcomed and greatly appreciated

Incase anyone else has this problem I "think" I have solved it! should know for definate tomorrow when the triple set up arrives! But as it is a MTB frame it would seem you just cannot have a standard double set up as the stays flare out too early I have been advised that the biggest inner ring you can get away with is a 32 so my 105 30/39/50 SHOULD get me back on the road again!
I will post again when all fixed up with a piccie
