I have a set of 7 or 8 year old 9 speed campag ergo shifters that I need to service, as changing has become a little vague.

Can anyone offer any advice/tips

Fantastic friendly and knowledgeable service, but like some many things these days-look at the price of new (mind you, if you're on 8spd and intend for whatever reason to remain that way, you'll get them serviced)

I had some 8spd done for a retro bike and am well satisfied

Can be rebuilt. Take them to a Campag pro shop and they can do so.

You can find instruction videos on www.youtube.com - but be warned that in reality the job is much more fiddly than that guy makes it look.

Fiddly but doable - I've done 'em. Just take it all apart very steadily and lay everything out in order.
