<font color="green">Beacon RCC has promoted an open ten-mile time trial every year since 1978. The event is organised as a memorial to Janet Kelly, sadly killed whilst participating in the sport she loved so much. A trophy in Janet's name is awarded to the fastest woman. Previous winners have included the legendary Beryl Burton and the Beacon's own multiple national champion, Ruth Eyles.

The 2007 event takes place on the K33/10S course on Saturday 30 June. Entries close on Tuesday 19 June. Details of how to enter and entry form: http://www.beaconrcc.org.uk/open_races/ ... index.html

For 2007, there will be a special women's team prize, reflecting Janet Kelly's involvement in the Beacon women's team that was so successful in the 1970s.

Comments

  • Due to emergency road works on the K33/10S, this weekend's time trial course may be changed to the nearby K34/10D. This has been passed by the District CTT and the change can go ahead assuming that the offending lights are not removed. If the lights are removed then the course will remain as the K33/10S. The HQ will remain the same.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Just blaim that wet stuff falling from the sky that caused the works.
