Mitts that LAST...
I got through some nice Gore mitts recently. They had had some wear over a few months but seemed to have plently of life left in them. One long, partially very wet ride completely destroyed the suede-like palms on both hands. Normal bar tape etc.
Can anyone recommend longer-lasting alternatives? I don't want/need masses of padding, and I'm now rather put off by that attractive suede with rows and rows of unnecessary stitching.

The club mitts that I use are made by Santini. They're a fabric palm with minimal padding. I bought them towards the end of last season, and they're still going strong.

Thanks, Guys. I remember that the best gloves I bought were in a 'going cheap' basket at Condor. Didn't even have a maker's name. I shall look around and trust my own judgement rather than the Brand Name! Definitely off Gore gloves though. My winter windstopper ones wore through on the gearchange fingers far too quickly.

Lidl's mitts I bought last April. Some of the stitching has undone around the gel pad, but apart from that they're still in tip-top condition after 2000+ miles (I wore Probikekit winter gloves for a few months when it was cold and they've fallen to bits [:(]
Cheers !

My specialized are going strong after a few years but two Chiba pairs have been disappointing - stitching coming adrift.
