Time RXE pedal failure

Just be warned - I returned mine under the original recall to a well know on line retailer. They were returned some 6 weeks later, supposedly checked and repaired. This morning as I turned my bike upside down to clean it after yesterdays hard sportive, one of the pedals fell off the spindle - excatly the fault for which the pedal was recalled! I am told that the goods cannot be exchanged if dirty, how on earth can I comply with that?? The spindle is covered in grease, and I do not have the specialist tools to repair the damn thing. I am thoroughly disillusioned (aka p*****d off) with both the pedals and the retailer: meantime I cannot ride or race.

sorry miss your point...œ66 for pedals isnt cheap. œ80 or so or œ130 odd for the carbon versions isnt either, and all you are buying is less weight, the fundamental design is the same. The reason for buying them is that they have a big area low stack height, easy to clip in and out of and offer possibly the biggest amount of lateral float of any clipless pedal. Nothing wrong with the inherent design, just the quality of assembly.

His point is you should demand a refund - I've had exactly the same issue and may do the same!0

Well interpreted, not how I read it. I dont want a refund, I want to use a properly assembled version of the pedal - all my bikes/shoes are the same type. Had already contacted the retailer, sending them back for replacements. I have a pair of RXE's which I bought after the recall and they are fine (so far). I have also been compensated for the hassle.
