Confused By BC Membership

i am a member of British Cycling. i have the "silver membership", which on the back of it has a "Racing Licence - Provisional".

does this mean i can enter BC races or not!? or do i need to buy a full racing licence as well as what i already have got!?

sorry, im just a little confused by it!!!

I had a look into getting a silver membership and on the online form it said silver membership with optional racing license.

I think having a sliver membership allows you to then buy a racing license for extra...

Indeed. For road racing you will need a full license, that will cost you extra.

so i cant just turn up on the day with my provisional racing licence?

looks like i might have to buy a full one then.........never mind.

If I remember correctly, you can ride circuit races (on circuits such as Hillingdon, Mallory Park or Darley Moor) on a provisional licence, but if you want to ride a full on road race on public roads you need a full licence.

You can also ride local league cyclo-cross races on a provisional licence
