I am also a fan of Corsica, but having just cycled the hills of Sicily I have to say Sicily is also stunning.0

Lucky bugger! Corsica's great - ace food as well. I love the contrast between the oak and chestnut forests in the hills and the sunny beaches below.

Cheers Jay Clock. I am on a tour round Europe at the moment and now plan to go to Corsica in a couple of weeks. Looks fantastic.0

Was there twice last year, unfortunately it was for work so I didn't have my bike with me. Food was excellent overall, beer can be expensive as many establishments have one price for locals and another for tourists (this told to me by our guide and translator).
If you're sailing from mainland France I'd reccommend getting a slow boat (about 9 hours crossing, as opposed to 4-5 hours or thereabouts) that departs at about 9.30 PM, with a cabin if your budget will stretch to it. That way you can eat, relax and have a shower, thereby arriving on the island at 6.30 AM refreshed and ready for the off.

Corsica, lovely. Trouble is there are just too many other lovely places I have to go to before I'll get round to going there again.0

It's the best in my experience. No question. Also agree with the Marseilles to Porto Vecchio ferry. Marseilles is a bit of a dump but the views arriving into Porto Vecchio are stunning.0

Seconded, my best tour ever, I went toCorsica last September and rode over a similar route in sections through the middle, out tour starting further west in Calvi.
Loved the write up and seeing the similar shots that I had taken myself last year, a bit of a shame to see the climb of 'Vivario has to the Col de Sorba' has still not recovered from the fire!

That is all spelndidly good news! I was just away to ask about Corsica as a cycling destination but thought I'd do a quick search first, and found this thread. I was flicking through my French road atlas for the millionth time today trying to choose a destination for a cycle holiday next year and the page fell open at Corsica. I was immediately drawn to it due to the yellow windy roads. looks like I may have found my holiday destinantion - now to get my hands on a touring bike, and save some money (and tell my wife I am going to be disappearing for a while)0

Corsica is the best, but don't tell anybody, you might even see me there this summer!
