    Don't know how they compare, but I went up Carter Bar and Soutra Point on the A68 this week. They're not that steep, but seem to go on forever. Earlier on, the climb out of Bellingham on the B6320 crossing the Pennine Way was also tough going. Prior to that lot, one that did beat me was on the A68 at Castleside / Consett. I did have to get off on that one!

    Yes i did take my bike on the bus ..... i know it sounds strange...and probably not even allowed strictly speaking, but the hill was only a mile long and the bus very rarely had anyone on it so i think the bus driver used to take pity on me, to be honest i dont think i was the first person to do this as the first time he let me on he said "c'mon son you're not the first and you certainly wont be the last!!"
