Another update to my SDW site; added annotated elevation profiles of whole of SDW Winchester to Eastboune in 3 views of approx 30 miles each. Interesting each ascend about 1200 m.

Do you have a GPS Track/Route of SDW?

I have 'traced' all of SDW on to Tracklogs digital mapping, so you would need their software. œ9.95 for area cover New Forest, Isle of Wight, South Downs. www.tracklogs.co.uk www.tracklogs.co.uk

Short note that route of SDW has been changed slightly. At A32 Warnford (between Winchester & QEP), new finger posts diverting away from A32, then cross directly over, rather than along A32. Think probably should be a safer crossing. Only adds approx 200 yards ! I have updated my website www.bikedowns.co.uk www.bikedowns.co.uk

If you could save the track from Tracklogs to a file I could try and convert it for use on Fugawi. What output options do you have?

The latest beta release of TrackLogs (version 3.12) can save tracks in GPX format which everyone can use.

If you are not using 3.12 it is worth considering. It has loads of improvements and fixes (like saving your window and toolbar preferences) and it seems to be less memory hungry.

I have a gpx of the SDW (as best as I could trace it). Trying to upload to bikely.com but keeps timing out. Any other suggestion on where to post it?

Finally managed to upload the track through work's firewall. Probably some errors in the route so let me know and I can amend.

Hi, Noticed that the part from Beacon Hill to Old Winchester hill (Exton / Warnford/ A32) is the walkers rout, not the cyclist route.

I meant the part around Warnford on www.bikely.com

Update of my website www.bikedowns.co.uk : added location (map & photo) of water tap at Southease. Note that SDW now diverted over new brideg over A26, so misses tap unless you go on to Itford Farm.
Also noted which car parks are free or pay, as visited Ditchling Beacon, and did not realise had to pay; a very kind person gave me œ1.
Taken photos from Ditchling to Southease, so need to edit etc and write up notes. hope to put on website soon.
Now have 4 circular rides.
