    Who? MvdP or Pog?

Certainly isn't Wout. His palmares pales by comparison to the other two. He may be the most valuable super domestique though.

I'm not sure how many days have passed since WVA is no longer at altitude. Not sure how that is planned to still have the benefit, but not the fatigue. Maybe he'll have much better legs at the RVV.

Here’s hoping else it’s going to be a one sided race.

Blythe made a good point on comms, riding at X watts up a mountain feels very different to riding at X watts on the flat

Since this thread is no longer spoiler free, can we use it for future race chat?

By the looks of tomorrow’s forecast, it’s going to be quite……..windy.😋

The course for today. These days, serious length and those extra cobbled sections make Gent-Wevelgem something more than a nailed on sprint finish. Most forecasts have the wind at 25-30kph, with gusts of 50kph. Should make things even more interesting.

Luke Rowe is out for Ineos as he banged his head in an early crash at E3.

Wind direction is WNW, so proper cross-tail conditions for a lot of 2nd part the race

The day's break, currently at 4'45"

They should be just about to turn away from the coast soon, where the cross tail will hopefully come into play

Maybe he doesn't fancy piloting Cees Bol in the sprint 😅

Not the biggest splits, but even if it all comes back together this is likely to be going on for most of the rest of the race

The front split (29 riders) caught the break. The peloton is now a minute behind

Quite a few names there with not much of a team to rely on. I reckon Lidl-Trek and Alpecin-Deceuninck have come out best

    Typical.

Haven't been able to access the App, so eventually I have logged in to watch online.

Peloton came back to within 35", so Lidl-Trek started attacking the front group a bit to focus them on working and staying ahead

It's quite edgy and frenetic stuff, as the chase is on.

lol what are Lidl up to. Big effort into the foot of the climb and then piano across the road.

Surprised to see WvA sit this one out. Even assuming he’s riding DDV on Weds surely he’s coming into Flanders under-raced.

They got a bit of a gap with a few others, Trek send Milan out to make MvdP work

Trek have worked themselves into a really good position here. A man ahead, two top riders in the 6 man group 2 (with MvdP) and they're controlling the peloton 25" behind them
