Fixing your wobbly or stiff jockey wheels for £7.50 or less

Postby jon1993 » Fri May 17, 2019 17:50 pm

Hi just thought I'd share some success I've had repairing roller bearing jockey wheels to help others out. If you scrape a knife around the outside edge of the bearing to remove the 0.5mm lip it's nice and easy to do and the bearing pops out with a gentle push. Went to a reputable bearing sales and took the bearing with me and replaced both for 7.50. Pushed them back in with a dab of super glue just to make sure they dont move and works perfect.

Or you could get some brand new ones for £9.99 Click & Collect from your nearest Evans Cycles.
https://www.evanscycles.com/tacx-jockey ... l-00103160

Or the same from Decathlon for £6.99 + £3.99 delivery.

Or maybe if you are with Amazon Prime, you could get upgraded ceramic bearings ones for £6.45, delivered free within 24 hrs
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tacx-Ceramic-B ... B0199YFSGS

Nothing wrong with Tacx, I have used them for years. Two year guarantee.
By the way the teeth on all jockey wheels wear out, usually before the bearings do.
