Qr levers and how to use them.

Postby nicklouse » Wed Aug 03, 2011 18:02 pm

Recently there has been quite a few questions about the use of Qr Skewers.

Here is a some info on them.

If you look at your bike as see the words OPEN on the Qr please read on.

All Qr levers have the words Open and closed on opposite sides, this is to show you when the Qr is fitted correctly.

So with the wheel fitted you should adjust the Acorn nut so that the lever moves to in line with the axle axis fairly freely.
(if you fork/frame is slightly splayed you should adjust the Acorn nut so that the lever is inline when the fork/frame contacts the hub faces).

then move to 90 degrees (inline with the axle axis)

and finally tighten (the lever should be pushed back as far as it will go.
