Quite, they’ll likely have their lids on back to front.

Or they might be wearing sprint helmets..

Yeah, an event I have more experience of than you ( and most people ).

Wrong again. I have also ridden it four times and am back this year, which by my calculations means we have the same amount of experience.

Unless the experience you are talking about is in talking shite.

You are the leader in that area.

Won't even have to jump pens with such an early start. Sweet.

You’ll be in with the clubbies though.

And what is the point you are trying to make?

Clubbies tend to ride like utter Bell ends, all but one year of riding the event has taught me this.

I see. So I take it you are not part of a club?

I sometimes ( rarely ) ride with a club, but really only to get the shop discount that comes with membership.

The clubbies are great, you can hitch a tow with them, they tend not to stack it into road furniture through town, take the correct racing line downhill from Newlands corner, and don't get off and walk up Leith.

And it's "clubbies" that keep the sport going at grassroots level, arrange the smaller sportives, eg May Flyer, Spring Onion, Chiltern 100 etc. They also tend to be the ones who, when they're on their own and sense you behind them, will point out hazards, potholes, gravel, glass etc. They also provide many of the marshals at races, sportives and ride helpers for the Pru 100.
So if on closed roads they want to stick together and tear along at 20-25mph then I say good luck to them , and enjoy the day.

In my experience, people who say club riders 'ride like c*nts' are invariably just pissed off that they're faster than them. The vast majority of c*ntish riding I saw a couple of years ago when I did it was absolute Freds in Rapha kit, and nodders who must have put down ridiculous estimates finishing times they couldn't hope to achieve on an e-bike.
Fat chopper. Some racing. Some testing. Some crashing.

I'd definitely say that most club riders can ride wheels. Sure you'll get the odd few that are idiots - but if they're idiots on the club run they won't be in the club for long.

I'd say the worst riding will be from people who aren't used to riding in groups.

You’re a proper cnut. What if that’s someone off here that people know?

I’ll snap your sh*t bike in half if I ever have the misfortune of bumping into you.
