This is my fourth time, all but my first one have involved 6 a.m. starts. I’ve got a 6:04 start time again this year. Although that involves getting up at about 4:00 am, I’d rather that, than have a later start, and get wedged in by hill walkers in Surrey. I usually get back to London, back to the hotel, showered / changed and back to the Mall, in time to see the end of the pro race. Then I can go out on the lash.

Don’t forget to avoid the cycle lanes on the way up to the Olympic park, if you’re leaving in the dark, or if it’s raining, or has been raining, there were loads of punctures on the way to the start last year, mostly picked up in the cycle lanes.

5:48 for me, which is crazy early but sets it up perfectly for a nice fast time. Going out at 6 on Sunday, need to get used to riding at a time earlier than I normally wake up!

Blue C

Wave load: 04:40.
Start: 06:00.

Won't even have to jump pens with such an early start. Sweet.

I'm out just after 6 as well. I actually prefer going out an hour later as you miss out on the demoralising sight of chain gangs sweeping past at 35mph. I'm going to be aiming to get round in about 5 hours, so I'd much rather be off with like minded people!

Too late now. You’ll get absolutely annihilated by the people around you / following you, if you haven’t bothered. try not to cause an accident though eh?

He could wait twenty mins and grind along with you - with your own three devices you could count it as a 400 miler

And what is the point you are trying to make?

Clubbies tend to ride like utter Bell ends, all but one year of riding the event has taught me this.

5:52 for me.
Sounds like I might be riding like an utter bell end.
A technique that I must say intrigues me somewhat.

Quite, they’ll likely have their lids on back to front.
