Re: Snowdon

For clarification You'll be walking up and riding down on the way down, some people will probably fall off and some will get impact punctures Bearing in mind you can't go up it until 5pm, make sure some people in the group know what they are doing It will take you about 3 hours to ascend with a bike...

Re: Classic Road Bikes

Get one, you'll have so much fun on it! Ok so the downtube shifters may take some getting used to and the lack of low gears give you that authentic 80s leg burn but its a bike that will just keep on going. As long as it's Reynolds 531 or Columbus SL and there's no visible damage to the frame (especi...

Fat tyres as possible pumped up as hard as you can manage them - stop annoying pinch flats. If its wet take it easy on the downhills, you will lose it on the chalk Make sure you know where the taps are in advance to refill bottles on the way Take LOADS of food but travel as light as possible. bare m...

Really? Lol no not really..... I cocked up..... It's 425 meters not feet. I've climbed up the side of it before with my brother. Took us 4 hours to reach the top which reminds me.... The wind up there is really strong too. Should be fun :) So where is this mountain? It's on Fuerteventura where I li...

Hey - same trouble here. Gap do a "curvy" range and I love Primark's skinny jeans. I wear a lot of vintage repro clothing like Collectif and find they're more generous in the bum/legs! Since I've discovered the Primary stretch jeans I don't bother with the Levis commuters any more (as goo...

Re: My GF's club insist she wear Pink

MCS on the Isle of Wight made their members wear club kit for all cycling activity - one girl was thrown out for commuting in civvies. It was run by the biggest c0ck in UK cycling, mind you. That sounds awful, sadly while most cycling administrators and volunteers are sound theres always a few Capt...

Re: Turns out I have massive feet

For anyone else feeling frustrated with lack of choice there are actually quite a few models of larger womens cycling shoes - Northwave do loads of their womens shoes larger, as well as Shimano, Fizik and technincally Sidi (although their 43s are really 7.5s) If you're looking for Womens 43s or 44s ...

Re: £1500 - £2000 to spend on a new road bike

You know you can get an absolute beaut in your price range if you use the sales? If you take a size medium you can get a Boardman Elite Air 9.2 for under £2k at Hargroves or, my preference, something a bit 'out there' a DeRosa Idol with discs ~£2K (was £3.1K) at Wiggle. All taken from the sales page...

Nice bike - I think they were about £220ish around 1986. Seat looks a bit low on that for comfort and if you do get it you'll have to retape the bars to get the brake hoods up in the right position. Solid bike that should keep on going for years.

2017's new Enduro designs coming through

Too stylish for some, the high bottom bracket helps with clearance and the designers have gone back to the tried and tested 26" wheels with V-Brakes.

We had this a while ago - we recognised that there were clothes out there for regular sized people rather than athletes but the shops stocking them were few and far between - so we put a women pages together on bikesy that lets you search by sizes - you can get results from the UKs top bike shops in...

Keep your eyes on Planetx over the next few weeks as it looks like they are having a massive restructure with Bikebiz reporting they have laid off half their staff. While this is very bad news for the workers you've got to wonder if they'll be knocking loads of gear out to get capital in quickly.

Brompton if you're going to be doing regular folding - i.e. train assisted. There's nothing that can beat it when you are folding and unfolding four or more times a day. Anything else and you will get this nagging feeling every single time you bend down to undo it - "bah should have bought a Br...

Re: Thread to tell everyone what bargains you've spotted!

Has anyone seen any bargains on an Exposure Strada? My old bike lights are failing, and I now cycle further than I used to to get to work, so I'm going to treat myself! Looks like Mk5s for £210 and MK6 for £216 is the cheapest currently Also just seen if anyone's after some casual Sombrio stuff for...

Very impressive!!! Over 80 bikes! Never new he was such an enthusiast. Bit confused why they want to charge $350 for domestic shipping though! Unless that is a typo, and it was meant to be without the 0 on the end. I can only guess it is a high end auctioneers shipping model - great care spent putt...
