Re: RIdeLondon 2018 - start times

Blue C Wave load: 04:40. Start: 06:00. Won't even have to jump pens with such an early start. Sweet. You’ll be in with the clubbies though. And what is the point you are trying to make? Clubbies tend to ride like utter Bell ends, all but one year of riding the event has taught me this.

Re: World Cup 2018

England were actually dier. If they’d had a hard group, they wouldn’t have made it out. Same old England, different day. That is very harsh, England did as expected against who they played, no more no less. They made the most of a favourable draw and some "bigger" teams going out early. W...

You don't win 30 tdf stages without being a great sprinter.

Re: What's the deal with Cav?

I don't see him as being arrogant. When he wins he's always thanking his team mates for getting him up there. You don't win 30 tdf stages without being a great sprinter. The arrogance statement needs to be taken in the context of the poster, and taking into account his other 1500 odd posts of total...

Re: Velo South 2018

I was getting Velo Wales emails right up to a few days before. L'Etape London is still marketing, Chiltern 100 and White Roads Classic also seem under sold. These big commercial operators are either miscalculating the potential numbers or just greedy to maximise profits. It’s probably a bit of both...

Re: Remove PF30 bottom bracket from Boardman CX

The cups may have corroded onto the frame. Try pouring boiling water over / immersing the bottom bracket area in hot water, then give the cups a good hard whack using the tools and method you’ve explained you have. It’s just a case of hitting them as hard as necessary, to get them out. isnt that wh...

Re: Isle of Wight cycling

Agree Ugo, I keep meaning to schedule a day doing the tour de wight. Whats the deal with taking bikes on the ferry, cat, hovercraft etc? The cat, and the passenger ferry, just deal with you as a foot passenger, you put your bike in the cubby holes at the end of the car deck, and off you go, the Red...

Re: Isle of Wight cycling

I live a 15 minute ride from the ferry to Cowes. It’s a great place to ride, especially when you have views like this available. The roads haven’t always been “French quality”, until recently, some of them were ‘Tanzanian quality’ but recently, a lot have been sorted out nicely. There are still some...

As with the vast majority of his posts, mile muncher is talking rubbish. The thing sticking out the saddle is a Dimension Data transmitter (yip that’s what Cav’s team’s main sponsor do) which provides real time information to broadcasters should they want to use it. https://www.cyclingweekly.com/ne...

I think after today maybe the calls that cobbles don't belong in a GT might die down? I’m used to cobbles, and knackered roads, and cattle grids, some of these guys obviously aren’t . Bunny hop any interfaces, watch any sharp corners after the pave, stick to the middle, hammer it, you’ll be fi...

Re: Best post workout drink?

My go to would be chocolate milk, but can anyone make any recommendations they swear by for increasing performance? A recovery drink is not going to 'increase performance' - it's only going to help you recover. which in turn helps increase performance. Recovery is recovery. What you do in training ...
