Re: U.K. or U.S. market helmets - which offer best protectio

Not being funny mate, but everytime someone mentions the EU helmets you big up the US helmets. Sounds to me like you've already made your mind up so why bother asking? Just buy the US helmet if thats what you had before and be done with it. You shouldnt be crashing that often to worry about it surel...

Re: Cube sizing advice

If you are borderline at 6ft (between sizes) then i would definitely size up with Cubes. They arent overly small, but are a bit smaller compared to say Giant. Im 6ft 2 and with a Giant bike i can fit a Medium-Large or Large frame quite nicely, but on the Cube i have, Agree GTC Pro the 58" fits ...

Re: Cube Agree GTC Pro or Giant Defy 1 2014

I bought a Cube Agree GTC Race last July and i was 142kgs!! (Not now) and its been rock solid, even the Easton wheels, though ive since replaced them. Cant fault the bike at all, so i wouldnt worry about being 100kg, the Cube more than coped with me last year. Bullet-proof in my opinion (and i hit s...

Re: Sore butt

In some ways you are now officially a 'proper' cyclist, because none of us have sat on a bike and settled on the first saddle we ever sat on :-) and its very common to get a sore backside or sore middle bits, so you arent alone. I will say this. The biggest thing to catch me out (and many others) wa...

Re: Stem flipping and fit advice needed.

As well as looking at stem length so you aren't stretched out too much, try looking at the width of the bars. It's often an area thats overlooked, but if you get a wider bar fitted, it opens up the ribcage helping you breath easier (assuming you're not riding with your arms wide open) but just going...

Re: What clinchers to go with some new wheels?

I personally run Scwalbe Ultremos ZX's, been great for me, but might not be what your looking for based on the roads around your way. They can get little nicks in them due to their soft, grippy nature. But having said that, ive had one puncture in 1000 miles, so to be expected. Still going strong th...

Just read he's going for the Worlds TT.

As much as i would love to see him get it, what are his chances realistically? 4th? 5th?

Re: Is it wrong...

IMHO It's purely the calibre of riders that make the Tour the 'best GT'. The route I often find uninspiring and as said, lots of transition stages and flat stuff - they never seem to want to throw anything a little different in there. Vuelta was the best GT last year and probably will be this year ...

Re: Is it wrong...

I was just thinking that last night - it is very entertaining. The Tour does seem to have a lot of "transition stages" between the interesting stuff - and even that wasn't that interesting. It definitely doesn't have the glamour but it makes for good highlights. I think the trouble with t...

Agree. Roche has been riding like a man possessed in this Vuelta, even his TT was good. I hope he ends up with some form of jersey at least.

Is it wrong...

...to be enjoying the Vuelta, more than the Giro or Tour, this year. Giro was a bit of a washout and never seemed to get going to me, the Tour was good but a bit predictable, but this Vuelta is fekin magic!! it's got Roche on his game, Nibali, Valverde, Rodriguez etc all watching each other, while s...

Re: Felt Z5 or AR5?

As Giant Man says, go sit on them and try them out, the geometry might be completely different on each one.

Personally, i would go with the AR5, but thats purely on looks and what ive read about it. In reality i dont think either bike will let you down, Felt make very good bikes.

Re: Cannondale v Trek..and 2014 bikes generally

There wont be much difference at that price range. Trek and Cannondale are both good bikes and neither is better than the other. Just be careful on these forums as there are a lot of Cannondale fanboys about that will kill your granny if you say you want another brand over Cannondale. They are good ...

Re: Shimano RS80 C50 V Shimano Dura Ace 9000 C24

Ive got Rs80's on mine, the new version (silver graphics not white lettering) and they have been bomb proof, roll really well, and the faster i go the better they get. And i weight 19 stone by the way, with no spoke problems, so i know they are tough. I dont think you would be unhappy with either of...
