Water in my rims somewhere?

So like a beast i've been eating the miles over the past few days through some pretty horrific conditions! However I have an issue, my bike is fitted with Shimano RS30 wheels, and water has managed to get into the rims/near them. How can I stop this? I don't really understand how it has got there if...

Re: Raleigh Team Sprint good?

Doesn't look too bad to me... Seems a bit on the heavy side though, however if it's your first road bike weight probably isn't a massive issue. However it's you that has to ride it, I reckon you should go down to somebody that stocks it and have a test ride :) Have you looked at the Triban 3 from De...

First road bike!

It's a Specialized Secteur Sport. I picked it up off here about 3 weeks back! Having spent the last 2 weeks with it covering lots of miles i've realised road cycling is the way! It's had a few upgrades, carbon seatpost, shimano RS30 wheelset, Michellin Pro 3 tyres. Rides perfectly, however i'm conte...

I ride wearing my MTB gloves, partially because I can't afford to get a complete road outfit yet due to Christmas getting ever closer! But they do the job :)

Re: New to cycling - Is this how to slipstream?

Yeahh... But I wouldn't do it behind a truck lol! Find somebody else to cycle with and do it with them :) You'll know when it's going right, but make sure to take it in turns at the front, else one of you will be shattered whilst the other is having a holiday sat behind! lol! It takes some practice ...

Re: New Boardman Sport road bike

I don't like it because it is solid red... Which is the reason I also don't like the Triban 3 lol! I know you can't expect too much at £500, but you've got to like the look of what you ride to enjoy it. However that said i'm sure it'll sell to people that don't want to go down the second hand route ...

Re: Which Clipless pedals should I buy?

Hi Matty, There is an article in the December issue of cycling active regarding clip less pedals for beginners, shimano have brought a new pedal called the click R , they are available from Madison.co.uk for £39.99 . Had a good revue in the magazine, hope this helps. Cheers for the reply! Will take...

Okay thanks for the replies guys!

I'm a bit confused though... What is a floating cleat? And what is the alternative? And what are the pros and cons of them?

Re: Road Tyres

I'd inflate them and then see what they are like... Tyres will look different when the inner tube inside them is not inflated.

Which Clipless pedals should I buy?

I've been looking at "Shimano R540 SPD SL Road Pedals" due to there price and the fact that they are described as a good choice for those just starting out with a clipless road pedal system... But I thought i'd ask on here to see if anybody has any others that they would recommend. I reall...

Re: The new bike arrived!!!!!!!!!!

They definitely did! I do have an overall good level of fitness though as I also jog several times a week which has probably helped out! :) Just a quick question actually to throw out there, the bike currently has michelin pro 3 tyres on... They served well today to be honest but I was obviously goi...

The new bike arrived!!!!!!!!!!

So after years of riding an MTB off and on road, I decided to take the plunge and buy a road bike! I saw a second hand Specialized Secteur Sport for sale on here, and I got it and it arrived yesterday! :) It has had a couple of upgrades, carbon seatpost and Shimano RS30 wheels! Did my first serious ...

Re: Fathead-- AVOID Negative experince

I think if i've learnt anything from this thread, it's that before I pay anybody anything for an item, i'll be getting their address off them first so if it is a bag of sh*t I know where to go to sort it.

Hope you both get your money back!

Advice needed!

So, i'm looking at buying second hand as I am only budgeting £300 on the bike!

What should I be looking at getting for this budget second hand? I have the small issue of being 6ft 2" too, so I realise I may have to wait a bit before something right comes up!

Any tips/advice welcomee!

Re: Beginner mountain bike?

What are you looking at doing with it? I'm a very big fan of Dacthlon bikes due to the amazing service I get at my local workshop! I would definitely look at Decathlon, i've got a Rockrider 6.3 which I picked up for £350 as a bit of a laugh, and to be honest, pretty good for a cheap dual sus bike! T...

Re: My first off...

Sounds like you've come off relatively well!! Hope you get it all fixed up quickly! We've all got to come off at some point to find out the limit of the conditions/bike/skill, or should I say go past the limit? Haha! :) It's all good fun! Anyway, hope you have a speedy recovery!
