Re: Shorts or tights?

I wear padded bib shorts, with unpadded tights. I would think a lot of others do this too, it's the cheapest way around getting an all weather cycling wardrobe!

Only managed an hour and twenty minutes today :( Going to hit it hard tomorrow though, looking to do at least 60 miles! Will post the strava link to my probably relatively poor efforts tomorrow evening

Road cycling should be hard! If it's not, you're not trying hard enough! :P But seriously, you had fun on the MTB so you haven't wasted any time, surely? You'll just now have to work on your road bike fitness, so you just have another good excuse to get out more

Re: Club run group size.

Holy mackerel. There's me thinking last week that our group of 11 was too big. I'd prefer 6, regular turns on the front and all that. Easier to work together. 8 would be the max. +1 to this! I rode in a group of around 30 or so on a Reliability Ride a few weeks back, and it got pretty sloppy with s...

It's all part of the fun! (As long as you don't hurt yourself or the bike!)

Probably says a lot about the guy ditching his mate just to try to race you... You should have just pulled up next to his mate and had a chat and let the hybrid rider shoot off into the distance lol!

Re: need advice

Disagree. There should be enough there to slide the brake levers round to the end, and the arc of the bars doesn't add much more distance to where they are at present. You've got to unwind the tape anyway - I don't see any reason why they won't come off without taking the brake cables out. Who said...

Strava will also destroy your rides if you're anything like me and chase segments lol! Needless to say, I don't ride with it on most of my rides, else i'd probably be dead!
