Re: Tubeless Tyres (I know I know)

Thanks guys, 38psi does sound high I agree, could be my track pump reading a bit off, its about 10 years old but still pumps fine. But I might look around for a frame to build up again :)

Tubeless Tyres (I know I know)

Ok so I haven't made the switch, mainly because I never get flats, however I'm more interested if there is a difference in the tyres rebound characteristics when running lower pressures, I've dropped the pressure a few times to mimic tubeless and to smooth out the ride but a snakebite is the result ...

Re: Carbon Frame Protection

Buy a lizzard skins chain stay protector, much nicer looking than an inner tube on a new bike. I've used bike sheild on my carbon bikes and it seems to hold up well, even use it on the top tube of my cross if I happen to sit on it with a muddy ars* it wont get scratched, but as for rockstrikes, ones...

Re: Ice Tech rotors with standard calipers: any issue?

My new XTR m985 (xc) brakes dont have the finned pads as opposed to the trail version but do have the icetech rotors, they seem to be fine and as for the "rotor" they dont appear to be anything too flash just a lot more aluminium than an XT rotor and a higher cost.

Garmin edge 500 setup tips...

Just mounted my new 500 and was wondering, can you input the amount of km already accrued , ie I have ridden 4200km with a cateye and would like that figure to be displayed on the unit today.
Thanks

Have you removed the non driveside hub spacer to check the bearing.

Re: 2013 Shimano XT/XTR?

I've have both the 2010 elixars and the new XTR xc brakes, The only reason I bought XTR over XT is that the XTs as a complete kit didn't come with discs (Merlin) so if I bought XT discs as well I was just shy of the full XTR price at the time, but my god they are smooth, The XT's have the same stubb...

Re: Estate cars that can fit in two bikes?

My Volvo V 50 takes two XC bikes with the front wheels off and the back seats down no worries or two DH bikes with both wheels off as well as gearbags ect. They're reasonably good on fuel  , I've got the 2.4 l model but the newer V60's are all 1.8 turbos except for the posh model. Prices are d...

Re: XTR 970 Shifter wont downshift

Ok, got these working, so if anyone else has a problem heres the quick fix, Allow the cable to have much more slack than your accustomed too, I had the bike in the stand and ran through about 500 shifts, works perfectly. Would like to test them outdoors to be sure but its snowing and I have the flu :(

XTR 970 Shifter wont downshift

Another of my never ending problems of late, Have just bought a new set of 9speed xtr 970 shifters. The up-shifts on the front are smooth as butter but there is no downshift on the front deraileur as the shifter wont release whether you use your thumb or old school index finger. A series of pushes or...

Race, of course, No idea what I buy sometimes, and only 5 minutes to bleed them I'll be happy with 30 minutes, thats why I've bought a full litre of fluid, just in case.

New XTR XC Brakes

Just bolted a new pair of XTR XC brakes onto the beast and was wondering if they come pre-bled as both levers dont feel that firm and pull almost to the grips, I see that there is an adjustment screw but haven't fiddled with that as yet. And, as I have to shorten the hoses can I get away without a b...
