Start again from the beginning it should be ok. Look up the park tool video on YouTube

Re: Training around London

Thanks very much for the recommendations, it sounds like hopping on the train for the weekends. Highgate West Hill and Alexandra Place sound interesting for the week days, I'll give them a try this week.

Training around London

Hello! I moved to Central London a while ago, but could not find any good routes to train on, so temporarily quit road cycling. I tried the roads of Essex, which are excellent, but it takes me about an hour of commuting until I get to the training route. Richmond Park is okay, but also far away from...

Zipp 101/30's are excellent, but out of the price range I think.

go the Ambrosio cassette route: quickest, cheapest, easiest.

Well it's all about utility functions, right? Liking a solution would not make it the most feasible solution, obviously.

Re: Gear shifter lever

The issue with the left shifter sounds like the front shifter wire is too loose. To replace the pin, you can source a broken Xenon/Mirage/(old) Veloce on Ebay, would be a much cheaper option.

Re: 2x11 mech to 1x11 hydro

You also have to make sure you can install a hose for the rear brake. If the bike has internal cabling for the rear derailleur that does not allow a full cable or braze ons that do not take the full cable, you would have to run the hose outside. Wouldn't look nice at all.

Re: Campag drivetrain with Shimano hub...?

Why not upgrade to a nicer 10 speed Shimano (maybe a 105 5700 or Tiagra 4700) or a SRAM 10 speed if you don't like the pivoting brake lever? Every Campag gruppo has a corresponding SRAM/Shimano equivalent in terms of performance.

Ridley Phaeton T Headset

Hello! I recently acquired a Ridley Phaeton frameset (2012 I believe) with Record integrated headset. The online specifications indicate that this is the correct headset, but these seems to be a lot of play in the top bearing. The steerer is 1-1/8 straight. Does anyone know what the problem might be...
