Re: oh dear, what a shame.

The level of force used must still be reasonable in the circumstances as the householder believed them to be I don't think you did get it. Loving that 'there' at the end too. in the circumstances as the householder believed them to be. Never mind that you're really not getting it, the point im maki...

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

You can only justify that if you use 'reasonable force'. This is where you are misunderstanding the law. It doesn't mean you can kill an intruder into your home. Each case is specific and would have to be argued in court. yes thank you for that we get that. here is an excerpt from the guidelines us...

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

Am I on my own by only wanting to get my child to safety away from the abuser without wanting to beat the carp out of him? Compelling? Not to me. Seriously, why do people have the need for descending towards the lowest levels of human behaviour. Murdering, beating up or any other violent act is wro...

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

The thread started with the story of a murder of a convicted peadophile. At what point did self defence come into that A.dog? The thread evolved. It happens For example, your comments include statements about how you would react and how physical defending your child is selfish. the points I made re...

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

So yes if you walk into your house and find someone attacking your son you can justifiably attack that person and if as a consequence he dies then that it is (dependent on the circumstances) pretty much his tough shi t DROPS MIKE exits stage left As you say, it's dependent on the circumstances. I'd...

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

Realistically though, what are the chances of your scenario? Do child abusers do their abusing where they'll get caught or even a chance of it happening? You're talking about a preemptive strike without knowing if the abuser is violent. You're the aggressor = harder to argue self defence I suppose....

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

No you're wrong Mamil. it depends entirely on the circumstances. There are plenty of examples of people killing people and being perfectly entitled to do it. The law and the rule of law provides for it in fact. In here there are frequently calls of prove it or we won't believe it followed by dubious...

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

What would be your response if you walked in on an adult doing something entirely inappropriate with your son? Would you be all polite and say "excuse me please" ... or would you be a bit physical - I know it'll depend on the circumstance - and the build of the adult - but I'll bet that i...

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

Yes - very easy to write and a perfectly natural reaction - if anyone harmed little slowbike, you'd have to arrest me before I did something I'd regret (my only regret would be that I'd be punished for carrying out retribution taking time away from being with the family.). It is perfectly natural -...

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

at least we've moved on from absolving the paedo and blaming society for his choices. I don't think he absolved the guy of anything, he just said that calling him a monster absolves society of any responsibility. I would say that calling this guy a monster and wanting him dead doesn't really help u...

If you're replying to me dog I have you on mute so save your efforts. Wouldn't worry about it, the dog is just yapping away as per usual. And making a point that the liberals find too uncomfortable to answer. Yap, yap, yappity yap. Well you could have tried to show he was wrong by answering his poi...

Re: oh dear, what a shame.

I haven't read the rancid troll's OP, but just to say that the 'death penalty' and 'extra-judicial killings' are not really comparable. There are arguments for the death penalty (few of which I agree with), but there can be no reasonable argument for extra-judicial murder. Name calling and not read...

I'll just leave this here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Bentley_case The Death sentence is was wrong, is wrong and will always be wrong. Killing people in the way the victim here was killed is also wrong and yes, he was the victim of a crime. The fact he was a nasty piece of work does not ma...

Hmm, engaging with a serial troll pushing another yebbut, what about...? Nope, I deem my previous response perfectly adequate.
