Re: British Cycling sucks!!

Imagine this. Someone uses a Specialized Venge that he got from a sponser for free. Then all of a sudden the UCI creates new regulations which states that all teams have to buy all their equipment using their own money. This regulation is so new, that the Qualifier rounds were allowed to be used wit...

Re: British Cycling sucks!!

Do you work for British Cycling? If so, you are lucky he doesn’t have the the financial backing like Pro riders have to get lawyers.

If Chris Froome can get away with breaking existing rules (basically doping), any decent lawyer would have alot of fun with this case then.

British cycling is a joke.

Re: British champion gets busted for cheating

The new regulation he got busted for was introduced 8th of march this year while he unlocked the Tron bike ages ago with the bot.

The regulation he got busted for is so new that it was not even active during the Qualifier rounds.

Re: British champion gets busted for cheating

So when did he used the bot? He did it before this regulation was introduced which is what makes this messed up.

If he did the bot after this regulation was introduced, he deserved the 1 year ban. But this was not the case.

Re: British champion gets busted for cheating

That is also what I don’t understand. They could have let the finals be held with everybody on the same bike. British cycling is really a joke imo retrospectively banning people for new regulations that did not exist back then. Suppose if the UCI introduces new regulations regarding limits of the us...

Re: British Cycling sucks!!

Fact of the matter is, the regulations did not exist when the bot was used. So he did nothing illegal. And please, he won the championship fair and square. In the end of the day, it is all about your Watts and tactics rather than the bike you use. British cycling is a joke punishing someone for a ru...

He only used the bot to unlock the "Tron-Bike". In the championship it was legit Watts as he was using their equipment.

Re: British champion gets busted for cheating

How can you cheat when it was not illegal back then? And you really think he won because he used a "Tron-Bike" rather than the Watts he was producing? He would have won on many other bikes as well. If he wasn’t cheating why was he hiding things.2,000 Watts at 45kg body weight  ...

Re: British Cycling sucks!!

Someone won the national Zwift championship using a bike that he obtained not true regular cycling. However there didn't exist a rule back then that made this illegal.

He got stripped of his title and a 1 year ban.

British Cycling sucks!!

If the legal limit of drinking alcohol is increased to 21, then the government wouldn't arrest all the people who violated this rule before it became active. Yet, that is what British Cycling did, banning someone for something that was not illegal at the time. And they must have been out of t...

Re: The sound of silence

That is why I have a winter bike next to my aero bike.

My aero bike is still 100% perfect while my winter bike which gets used in crappy conditions makes all kinds of noises.

Re: Race bike, how much faster?

If you’re just as fast with a regular bike as with a full fledged aero race bike, then you are better off with a gravel bike. Just put some slick tyres on it and done. Also solves the N+1 problem.

I beat Pantani and Lance Armstrong on an e-bike climbing uphill.

So get an e-bike if you want to ride faster up hill.

Re: Get It While You Can!!..Age The Great Leveller!

Today, I overtook a very old guy on a steel bike with no deep section wheels. His pace was pretty impressive considering his old steel bike and old age (he was doing around 20 mph on average I guess?). So don't underestimate what old people can do. I gave him a thumbs up when I passed him :P However...

Re: How reliable are Garmin computers?

Yes the Garmin saves at the point of switching off due to a flat battery. So does my bolt. Should be easily be able to cope with that distance from a full charge, unless it took 10 hours :D Seems odd. I overestimated how much charge I have left. I was actually done with the ride when the battery di...

How reliable are Garmin computers?

My Wahoo element bolt ran out of battery today and my 140km ride was not registered. Very nice.

Do Garmin computers have an auto-save in case it runs out of battery? And is it worth switching to Garmin?

https://twitter.com/chrisfroome/status/1139902071216496640 Froome is a good bloke, i like his humility. Me too. He looks very approachable. Shame about his crash. Not sure if I will watch Tour De France this year with Chris Froome out of the race. Hope he recovers well and that he is back next year.

I found this picture of the road where the accident occurred on the talktalk news website. Just putting it here to try and inform the discussion on risk. As roads go, it doesn't shout "You need to keep both hands on the bars along here"... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48066435368_8...
