Re: New Bike Advice - Giant TCR Advanced Pro vs Canyon Ultimate CF 8.0 vs Canyon Aeroad

I have the Giant TCR Advanced Pro 1 from last year (black and orange) and it’s really nice to ride. The R8000 is a dream to use. Weighs in at 7.5 with pedals and cage. I considered the Canyon Endurace disc at the time but wanted something from a local shop in case of any issues. No experience with C...

Re: Stem lengths for a TCR

I have a Giant TCR in ML with a 110 stem and find it ok at 5’11. I do feel kinda stretched but it’s not an issue. My friend has the same bike in the same size and is a similar height to me. He has fitted a 90mm stem and feels much better on the bike.

My employer offers Cycle2Work and also CyclePlus. No idea if this helps you or not mate.

Lovely looking bike dazz, can I ask what bar tape and cages you have?

Many thanks.

Re: What to upgrade for £150?

Sounds like you’re not sure about a lot of things! If you’re not wearing a helmet then this would be my first port of call. I’d then ride the bike for a month and see if you actually enjoy it. If you do then look into getting some cycling clothes along with clipless pedals and shoes. As suggested, t...

I have the Hunt X Mason 4 seasons with the XD driver. Decent wheels and cost me around £300.

They’ve been too busy taking pics of their bikes in the snow to put on Instagram to reply to any emails mate.

Re: Ribble Endurance AL

I saw some pics on their FB page of someone who had ordered a SL Disc (I think) and it was supposed to be delivered in December. When it came the workmanship and QC was really poor. Paint chips all over the bike and also quite a lot of paint had come off around the rear caliper when it was fitted......

I use the Garmin Vivoactive HR for running and also the odd time on the bike if my Wahoo is on another bike.

Works well.

Re: New commute bike with cyclescheme advice

Yeah I know they own it but AFAIK I don’t think a receipt is given to your employer. Once the voucher is issued they don’t usually give a monkeys. My bike has Sram Rival 1x but Apex is essentially the same. I find it to be superb. I’m holding out for the Ribble R872 Disc 105 model which is £1200. My...

Good man. Agree with regards to the bars, they feel very nice in use. I found the bar tape a bit annoying at first but once used to it, found it very comfy indeed.

Good choice mate. I think the weight difference is about 700/800g.

I’m considering adding a few bits to mine this year.

Re: Right, which Giant TCR to choose.......(or Propel!)

I thought the irn bru one was a spectacular colour in real life. The online photos don’t do it justice imo. Kinda gutted I didn’t go for the disc model myself
