Re: Choosing between small and medium frame size

my advice....is to send the fastfitnesstips guys your dimensions and they will send you ideal bike geometry and fit, at least they did for me, and I know they have a clever calculator on sizing. However if you bought a slightly large bike and your bars are too far, then just buy a shorter stem and t...

Rub on wax on top of oiled chain, or degrease first?

Hi, I have bought a rub on wax product, its pretty thick stuff. Instructions say rub on, but dont mention cleaning or oil. Given the chain has a light oil, can the wax'ed lube be applied on top of the lightly oiled chain or do I have to go through the hassle of taking the chain off, degreasing and s...

Which computers use FIT files natively?

Apologies I cannot find this online, which bike computers produce FIT files from rides natively (rather than GPX and TCX). I have aftermarket analysis software that only works with FIT. Usually my preferred computers are low cost with GPS, like the Garmin 25, Sigma Pure GPS but am struggling to find...

carbon bars slipping in stem

I have Zipp SL carbon bars that were not slipping until I installed a fizik carbon stem. All the bolt are very tight, exactly as advised in terms of torque. everything was very clean. Bars and stem seem to mate together well in terms of surface area. However when the bike jolt the bars slip (rotate)...

Re: How much difference does road surface make?

Road surface is a very important variable in rolling resistance and comfort, hence it is an important factor in tyre choice and pressure. The fastfitness guys have a new calculator on surface conditions and tyre setup (https://fft.tips/surface2), others have produced lists of CRR by road quality...b...

Width of aftermarket chains?

I am trying to replace my SRAM red chain (11 sp) with an aftermarket chain and its not going well due to noise / rubbing. There seems to be a very small difference (maybe 0.5mm in width). could this be the wrong speed altogether (eg 10 vs 11) how would I tell?

Re: Bike sizing - help

Hi Max Your bike has the proprietary trek seat cap; first step is to check you have th 120mm version not the long 160mm. Next you are talking about reach to the pedals right? (what is your height and inseam)? Finally, if you were really stuck you could cut down the seattube (very carefully as its ir...

Does TrainingPeaks or XERT or GoldenCheetah allow live workouts from Ant+ smart trainer

I am wondering if these analysis tools actually allow live workouts specifically from Ant+ or bluetooth smart trainers? Do they display graphics or video on screen like trainerroad. do they allow multiple riders in one workout? In short are they more than just analysis tools that you upload to after...
