Re: I was having a great day at BMCC until I took out a sign post with my face!

I was toying with the idea of doing a few comedy replays for added effect but just ran out of time before I went away on holiday. Missed opportunity there!

I was having a great day at BMCC until I took out a sign post with my face!

My day of riding at BMCC was cut short last weekend because I'm basically a massive idiot. Every time I've been there before I've taken that route to the left, this time there was a diversion and it completely disoriented me at a crucial trail split so I did what any logical person would do...went s...

Haha thanks, I knew I was supposed to be going right at the split but for some reason I landed thinking I was going left and then got unbalanced when I tried to correct.

First ride out of 2019 at BikePark Wales with the Rhinos MTB Group (4K POV)

First ride out at BikePark Wales of 2019 with the Rhinos MTB crew, which was also my first time riding BPW as a group so I was experimenting with taking the role of follow cam for the day. Numbers were a bit thin on the ground for this trip due to other commitments, but we’re heading back for take 2...

My thoughts on Magura MT5 HC Single Lever Upgrade

Recently upgraded my MT5 levers to the HC single finger versions as I bent one of the stock ones. Was a bit miffed about the cost of the levers (over £25 each), but at least now I've seen them up close I can see some added benefits. The main point for me being that they are not simply a shorter leve...

Re: Riding some amazing off piste trails in the Wye Valley with WyeMTB! (4K Gimbal POV)

Nice. Looks like there were some hairy descents during the day. What caught me out was how fast the trails could go from fast and flowing to rock garden from hell in the space of about 5 metres. Not like a bike park where they ease you in gently, definitely came home a better rider for having done ...

5500 feet of amazing natural descents in the Wye Valley near Forest of Dean (4K Gimbal POV)

I decided to do something a bit different to my normal style of riding and spent Friday (my birthday) with WyeMTB doing a guided off piste trails day around the Lower Wye Valley, a stark contrast to last year’s birthday which I spent on a hospital bed waiting for collar bone surgery! Well worth the ...

Re: Roof carrier for 15mm thru axle

The Thule ThruRide 565 is what you're looking for, clamps directly onto 12-20mm thru axles. I've been using one for the last 2 years on two bikes with 15mm axles, one Boost and one non-Boost with no issues whatsoever. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/bike-racks/roof-mounted-bike-racks/thule-thrurid...

Couple of picture from Revs too, this was really the only one I took that even came close to showing a true perspective of how big the jumps on the 50/1 line look. I think the jump pictured here is 9a (25ft Shark Fin) which believe it or not is one of the smaller jumps on the run! https://i.imgur.co...

Re: First time at Revolution Bike Park and it certainly lived up to the hype! (4K Gimbal POV)

I see. So this is what 'mountain bikes' are for. Yer I rocked up on my 170mm Radon Swoop and was one of the 'smallest' bikes there, Revolution themselves recommend full DH rigs for their trails and I can see why now. Although if you stick to the reds and the 'easier' blacks it's very rideab...

Re: First time at Revolution Bike Park and it certainly lived up to the hype! (4K Gimbal POV)

Looks ace....how “jumpy” is it? I’m happy with fast, steep and technical but generally prefer to keep my wheels on the ground....have done all the reds and blues at BPW, is this similar? Even on a run like Freeride which is jumps from start to finish, the airtime isn't compulsory. You're 'supposed'...

Interesting that everyone is commenting how bad Ghetto Track looks, I actually preferred that over the red run as my 'go to' bottom half descent!

First time at Revolution Bike Park and it certainly lived up to the hype! (4K Gimbal POV)

This was my first time at Revolution Bike Park and it definitely lived up to the hype! I can’t explain how steep some of the trails at this place are, they aren’t kidding when they say it’s the nearest you’ll get to riding the Alps without leaving the UK! The whole site was absolutely bone dry which...

Re: Had a go at the big boy jumps on the newly rebuilt (bigger) 'A470 Line' at BikePark Wales yesterday!

Nice one, the vid doesn't show how big some of those jumps are. :) Tell me about it! Those two darker faced ones after the hip/gap thing about half way down in particular are pretty big! I wish I could ride like that! It is well known that video flattens the trail. But does it also make it look fas...

Re: Had a go at the big boy jumps on the newly rebuilt (bigger) 'A470 Line' at BikePark Wales yesterday!

Yet again, another great video. The trails look awesome. You rode some really smooth lines. You can tell when you get tired and it's not so neat and tidy. I just can't jump stuff and really struggle with table tops and gap jumps. Thanks man, couldn't have asked for a better day for it, little...

Had a go at the big boy jumps on the newly rebuilt (bigger) 'A470 Line' at BikePark Wales yesterday!

I had this trip booked long before the new trails were announced so the extra 3 runs were a nice surprise (even if AC DC was closed when it was advertised as being open, but meh). I didn't have my gimbal on during the morning when I did the new stuff, but I got this nice top to bottom run of Vicious...

Re: MBR Forum closure - post new usernames here

Well, I was surprised how long it actually lasted to be honest, numbers were definitely declining and most people were open to the fact they never actually bought MBR and/or read MBUK instead! You say that, but the majority of the activity on here isn't actually in the MTB forums, the bulk of the t...

Re: Riding Y Mynydd Red & Black Run at Cwmcarn (Gimbal POV)

I saw too many nasty injuries at BPW the first time that I went, that I bought a full face for subsequent visits. It gets used once a year, but is a worthwhile investment. Looking forward to more of your videos. That's a good attitude to have, don't get me wrong places like BPW have trails for all ...

Turned a dodgy Cwmcarn jump run into an okay video with some clever editing!

The second part to the video I posted the other day, this is the new jump line from the fireroad down which they recently rebuilt. I was having an off day and kept bottling it right before the bigger jumps, just didn't feel in the groove! Anyway, rather than just write-off the footage I managed to e...

Recommend somewhere MTB friendly to stay in North Wales?

I'm planning to take a few days off work sometime between 9th June and 28th July and visit North Wales to ride Revolution Bike Park, Antur Stiniog and maybe some places like Oneplanet Adventure and Caersws DH while I'm up there. It's about a 3.5-4 hour trip so I want to find somewhere MTB friendly I...
