Re: Newbie and am i really that unfit?

Good luck and stick at it.
It may be worth checking your feet are in the right position, newcomers often have their feet too far forward and this can make things a lot more difficult. Try riding with the balls of your feet on the pedals if not already, helped my OH quite a lot.

Re: Backpack or not to backpack...that is the question?

Jesus guys, go and ride your bikes/ get laid/ meet your mates for a beer/hang out with your family... I fear they may find this impossible, as they’d require mates, bikes, women ( men more likely ) who were willing, and I’m fairly sure their families hate them too. Casual homophobia, nice. Does tha...

Re: I hate hills but think I'm doing them wrong?

Hey all! I'm fairly new to road biking but been MTB riding a few years. I would say I'm in reasonable fitness. 6 foot 2 and 75kg. I got into road biking while realising full sus mountain biking means I have to drive 40 mins to actual use it properly. And road biking is straight on door step. So I'v...

Re: I hate hills but think I'm doing them wrong?

Everyone hates hills when they start out. you've got your nice shiny new bike and it flies along the road until it turns upwards, then everything goes pants. its miserable and you know you can't get to the top. just put the hours in, nothing more than that. titanium pedals won't make you fly up tha...

Re: Average ride length?

I read recently that the average recreational cyclist rides 10 hours a week. Let's say you average 17mph on your rides. Riding once a day 5/6 days a week means your average ride should be between 28.3 and 34 miles long. That sounds incredibly unlikely to me. Maybe the average racing cyclist ? That'...

Re: Recharge Garmin 520 on the move...

Powerbank in a top tube bag should be fine. Give it a go, if it wont charge it might be worth a try using a charging only cable (not a data transfer one). Cheap as chips on ebay.

Re: You tube cycling vlogs!

Personally I enjoy Katie Kookaburra's YouTube channel and also Adam Watkins - both cover audax rides, Adam even more so, but Katie's loves to cover everything cycle-wise having recently down Deloitte across Britain - that was fun to watch. There isn't many cycling vlogs out there it seems, especial...

Sorry, I don't have any recommendations to offer but I did come across this unfortunate typo when searching for Gilets myself: https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/rapha-insulated-gilet/rp-prod178389?mx=a (Read the second line of the description) Now I know Rapha stuff can be divisive but come on......

Someone who would buy a brand they had not tested based on a (no doubt) paid promotion over one they could test? Ok then. Each to their own.

Why are you 'training' so hard anyway? Only you know what's best for your body but if you are desperate to get back on tonight, why not try an easy session and see how you feel?

Dont have that problem - but have you tried jeggings? Lots more stretch than ordinary jeans.
