Re: Things you have recently learnt

During an interview with Andrew Neil an XR spokeswoman revealed that banning literally all air travel would reduce global temperatures by 0.003°C. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pO1TTcETyuU Changes in behaviour might not decrease temperature but may reduce the rate of increase. If we carry on as at ...

Yeah happened to me a few months ago then again last week. Went away on it's own but in the mean time using a VPN seems to avoid it.

Re: Suits

I'm still staggering from someone classing £500 - £1000 as mid range to be honest. My best suit (a dinner suit) was 'only' £400. I might be lucky in that I'm a shape that off the peg suits from High Street retailers fit me nicely. I can usually get something with a really nice fit and decent qualit...

Re: Dream bike - what would you spend?

Honestly I'm not having a go at you here, but do you genuinely believe that in buying a couple of quids worth of carbon and adapting it to fit your bike you can create a workable alternative to conventional braking systems? Really? For sure it will make a great topic in the Workshop or Your Bikes s...

Re: Dream bike - what would you spend?

No idea whether people on here can assemble their own bike or not - I'm guessing most probably can, so a comment like that is a little disingenuous, I think. Erm... have you actually read the last couple of pages of this thread? There's just been a whole actual discussion on whether people have the...

Re: Dream bike - what would you spend?

To me it's sad that people dream of disc breaks. Having disc brakes break would be more of a nightmare..... :P I'm toying with making my own carbon rotors, so it could happen! Because the thing wrong with disc brakes is the material used on the rotors? WTF! Nah, just because I like trying stuff out...

Re: BREXIT - Complete Meltdown

That'll be the non existent (AFAWK) alternatives to the UK proposal which was rejected by the UK parliament 3 times then? Yes, I can see why the EU is getting the blame. So what's your idea? If we are serious about protecting UK economy and Irish border then do a Norway with a view that it will eit...

Re: If this was a 2nd referendum, which way would you vote?

, I don't hang around in cake stop enough to even imagine it has been voted like it has. You have 848 posts in Cakestop so it's a bit of a stretch to try and sustain the argument that you were unaware of it's Remain bias. When you ask a question in an echo chamber it's sort of predictable that ever...

Re: If this was a 2nd referendum, which way would you vote?

As of tonight, 8 no deals, 3 deals, 100 remains. Quite a clear picture then. There wasn't any part of the leave campaign that put forward 'no deal' as a scenario or a desirable outcome, well, not that I can remember. Leave voters only have two directions to go, towards 'no deal' or towards 'remain'...

Emotions like that don't help anything or change anything. Suddenly your thread makes sense. :) It's like you've never seen humans before. What are you on about? The thread was started just to see what the poll results were. The clue is the poll and thread starter: "If this was a 2nd referendu...

Re: If this was a 2nd referendum, which way would you vote?

I think if you say things like "multi millions" of the 17.4 million who voted to leave are "somewhat" racist then we can read between the lines what your true feelings are. Well, I'd say that there are multi-millions who voted based on a racist infused version of anti-immigratio...

Well it's certainly not a "left" "right" issue and I think it's disingenuous to assume that the leavers can be characterized as being either stupid, racist, unthinking or any combination thereof My point was never that all are, so I think you're still reading something that's no...

Re: If this was a 2nd referendum, which way would you vote?

Asking this question in Cake Stop is like asking Sun readers if they want the return of pictures of women with big t1ts in their paper. Really? Why are people interested in cycling anti-brexit then? Doesn't make sense why there would be a correlation. Maybe you mean it's full of people who like dis...
