Re: Your rants here.

In Mallorca and got an infected finger which has turned septic, led to an inflammation in my hand and lymph node in my armpit. Currently dosed up in antibiotics, got another topical antibiotic cream for the finger and told not to ride for a week. FML

Re: Your rants here.

and Im just left thinking why am I getting so much grief for this  I once had an old woman stop on a zebra crossing, directly in front of me, so I couldn't proceed. The reason? To punish me for the actions of another cyclist who hadn't stopped. When I pointed out that I'd done exactly what I ...

Re: Crit Racing- last lap

Gets shared about once a month, so I get the joy of watching it again every time and laughing. TBF I've seen crits that were chopfests but nothing like that. It's wide as f***, has no real corners only bends and none of them look like they're within ten feet of the rider in front - is it a sixth ca...

...These worked a treat this morning: https://www.wiggle.co.uk/gripgrab-hi-vis-cyclingaiter/?sku=100384192... On this recommendation I ordered a pair of these today. If I'm less than satisfied with their performance, at least I know where you live  Today I had a harder ride in than intende...

Re: Silly commuting racing

Are velotoze robust enough? Not for every day use, even with something over the top. Even just used for racing they seem to have a finite (and probably fairly short) life. I was more thinking that it must be possible to build something more robust and user-friendly that works on the same principle....

Are there any shoe covers that can keep water out for more than 20 minutes? 45 minute commute in London: Sealskin cap, Gore ShakeDry jacket, Endura Stealth Lite 2 bib tights and ProViz waterproof show covers. Bibs over the covers, not under. Head is dry, arms and torso as slightly sweat damp, legs ...

Re: Silly commuting racing

Hillingdon - flat, wide, non-technical Hog Hill - Has a hill in it. Sometimes. Different configurations used for different races - some have it every lap, some less frequently, some hardly at all. Non-technical Velopark (Lee Valley) - More corners, but nothing too bad, and flat Palace - Proper race...

Re: Silly commuting racing

Do we need to organise a Sky / Ineos style train to make sure you win? Best mate has already volunteered to turn it into a two man chaingang  Also it would be embarrassing to lose, considering at the moment I'm putting in 10-13 hours a week on the bike between training and commuting. Also if a...

David Walsh talking about doping in rugby; https://play.acast.com/s/theruck/dccc4e07-f034-4c61-8a0c-beff962f507a if you can't spare 30 minutes to listen the gist is that international rugby doesn't have a major drug problem. I'm sure you're all relieved to hear this. The gym I went to when i first ...

Re: Spatz overshoes

There are two members of my clubs winter ride group that have them (I don't myself). Don't think they would appeal to commuters as they take a long time to get on and off. Long winter rides are another use case altogether. Bearing in mind this is all second hand knowledge, they do keep your feet dr...

Spatz overshoes

Hoping some hardy commuter will have invested in a pair of these over the past couple of winters and have an idea of whether they're worth getting? I could put up with the ridiculous look of them if they keep my feet reasonably dry over a two hour soaking - absolutely p1ssed off with overshoes/velot...

Also a big well done to the Rapha douche on a pearson fixie for just forcing me left at the Oval segregated track as he couldn't be bothered with sitting 2 by 2. Being petty I just undertook and forced my way back in front of him. These mugs would not dare of pushing into a queue in Waitrose but on...

HRM are really useful, I been feeling tired but judging by the data from a flat turbo session this morning my tiredness and headache is clearly some illness lurking on the horizon I find HRV a good indicator. Man who missed 3 drugs tests and got off on technicality absolutely owning 100m so far. Nothing to see here. Christian Coleman defended himself against criticism over his three missed doping tests after his stunning win in the World Championships 100m final. He said: "It's sad when people say ...
